This year’s Ms. Softball was a freshman phenom who may ultimately rewrite the state records books. In the circle she posted a 27-1 record, tying the state record for single-season wins. Along the way she struck out 246 batters, earned 14 shutouts and threw 4 no-hitters with a 0.776 ERA. At the plate she hit .532 with nine home runs, 11 doubles and 55 RBIs. An elite power pitcher who touches the mid-60s on the speed gun, she’s already being heavily recruited by the who’s who of college softball. The 2024 Deseret News Ms. Softball recipient is Brielle Gardiner of Ridgeline High.
