Daniel Simmons

This year’s Mr. Track has set a new standard for distance runners in Utah. A BYU signee, he set state records in both the 3,200 and 1,600 meters, and narrowly missed breaking the 4-minute mile mark, clocking in at 4:01.27 at the state meet. At the prestigious Arcadia Invitational in California back in April, he won the 3,000 and 3,200 races, recording times that rank No. 1 in the entire nation. The 2024 Deseret News Mr. Track recipient is Daniel Simmons of American Fork High.
