Jane Hedengren

This year’s Deseret News Female Athlete of the Year has already graced the stage twice tonight, a testament to her incredible talent and dedication. A standout in track and cross country, she shattered records and made history this past school year. She’s a two-time 5A state cross country champ, and a three-time state champ in the 1,600 and 3,200 meters, including setting new state records in both events this season. She became the first female athlete in Utah to ever run a sub-10 minute 3,200 meters at the state meet. She’ll try and chase a few national titles this month as well in prestigious national meets. The 2024 Deseret News Female Athlete of the Year is Timpview High School’s Jane Hedengren.
