Jane Hedengren

This athlete led her team to their first state championship since 1996, breaking a 27-year drought. Despite facing injury challenges leading up to the state meet, her determination never wavered. Her focus on running for something bigger than herself allowed her to deliver an outstanding performance, winning the 5A girls’ race with a commanding lead. For the second straight year, this year’s Deseret News Ms. Cross Country recipient is Timpview High’s Jane Hedengren.
