This year’s Mr. Cross Country had an extraordinary season last fall, shining both locally and nationally. An accomplished runner who was often the runner-up, his fortunes first started to change by winning the prestigious Bob Firman Invitational in Idaho, followed by the 5A state championship. He capped off his incredible fall season by winning the Nike Cross Nationals in Portland, the most prestigious team cross-country competition in the nation. The 2024 Deseret News Mr. Cross Country recipient, a Wake Forest commit, is Olympus High School’s JoJo Jourdon.
